CB Richard Ellis staff put Save It Easy® through its paces!

Save It Easy® into CBRE's test luminaire

Staff at CB Richard Ellis's (CBRE) were quite intrigued when they first saw the Save It Easy® T5 adaptor and wanted to know more following a visit by ecoBright®'s Joe Trimboli to their Perth office at QV1. After the meeting, local staff referred the information to CBRE's Regional Director - based in Adelaide - who was also a key contact for sustainability in the organisation.

CBRE was keen to determine the Save It Easy® savings for themselves and product was obtained.

Product testing was undertaken by Mr Kip Tanner who works as an Environmental Engineer in CBRE's Canberra office. Kip conducted the testing at the Canberra office where he compared the energy consumed by a standard electromagnetically ballasted 2x36W fluorescent lamp luminaire, against the same luminaire retrofitted with 2x28W electronic T5 lamps by Save It Easy® and this in turn compared to a fitting-within-fitting T5 adaptor (a competitor) product.

It was noted that the Competitor's fitting-within-fitting product recommended the removal of the capacitors in the luminaire for optimum results. Save It Easy® does not require capacitors to be removed when it is installed thereby reducing install time and costs.

The test luminaire at CBRE where power and other measurements  were taken.

Kip's results were then tabled to both ecoBright® and competitor for comment prior to publishing.

The numbers showed that Save It Easy® reduced power consumption in this application by 30% and would have a payback period of just 2 years. Unlike the competitor product however, Save It Easy® does not underpower the electronic T5 lamp, which independent testing has shown causes electronic lamps to fail sooner.

Kip advised CBRE management that whilst both adaptors saved energy, only one Save It Easy® would "last longer...require no maintenance" and that "it would be worth paying a slight premium in the short term for the clearly better quality Save It Easy® product"...thanks Kip - we agree with you!
